HOW TO DETANGLE WIGS

Wigs give you the luxury of taking a break from your own hair. Waking up in the morning and throwing a wig on, not worrying about combing or styling hair is a win for so many of us.

Why Do We Detangle

Gotten home and gone straight to bed without taking your wig off? This is a sure way to cause tangles in your hair.

Friction by lying on your couch, bed, or even your office chair will lead to your hair rubbing against furniture. This will lead to frizz and matt up.

Maybe it is a wig you took off and threw in your closet ages ago and now you want to revive it.

No matter how cheap or expensive your wig is, tangles are always inevitable. However, lower-grade quality hair is more likely to knot up and tangle and frizz in comparison to high-grade quality. Additionally, good quality wigs are made of better materials thus softer and more times than not easier to detangle. Longer wigs are more prone to frizzing and tangling.

Over styling especially if your wig is wavy or curly will likely lead to more tangles. Sometimes it can be avoiding to detangle regularly to preserve the style longer than it needs to be kept. Damage from over styling, heat or not being gentle can cause the hair to easily tangle.

All in all, it is important to note that tangles are inevitable even if you have the straightest wig. With time and wear from your wig, the hair fibers that are a component of your wig are prone to tangle.

Sweating and product build-up will eventually frizz and mat and tangle your wig.
